To put it lightly, there have been a few hiccups with the former bird app's unexpected rebrand to a single letter. First up, they don't have the rights to the domain x.com, so the URL has stayed as Twitter. Secondly, a great proportion of its users find the new name too cringe to even use. Thirdly, they have found no satisfactory, rebrand-appropriate way to rename tweets.

Despite all these misgivings, people continue to use the place as their personal humor diary. That's just as well, because at this point it would be hard to imagine what we'd do without all the funny snippets it churns out on a regular basis.
